what are a good reseanably priced set of heads for my 302

I have an early 70's 302, .030 over, flat top pistons, Edelbrock performer intake, 625 cfm Carter AFB, pretty much a stock cam (not radical), headers, turbo mufflers, 3.70 rear end ratio.
Ok, now the question I have is, what would be a good set of heads to use on this motor ? I don't want to mortgage the farm for these, possibly a good set of used heads from a wrecking yard that I can have gone over ??
Thanks !!

If you can find a set of '69 or '70 351W heads (casting #: C9 or D0) they would work real nice. They have 60cc combustion chambers ,same as most early 302's, but have larger valves (1.84"I/1.54"E for the 351W and 1.78"I/1.48E for the 302's). With a die grinder and a lot of elbow grease they can be 'match' ported to flow as well as a set of Edlebrock Performer heads.

When I rebuit my 302, I used a spare set of '87 351W heads I had and 'match ported them myself. They work great even though I have only slightly higher compression than stock with flat tops due to the '87 heads having larger combustion chambers (64cc). Stay away from the mid '70's to mid 80's windsor heads because they have a 69cc combustion chamber which will really lower your CR.
