how much $$$ for a rebuild?

i want to get my trucks 5.0 (100,000 miles) rebuilt soon. the engine still runs good, and burns about half a quart every 4000 miles, but im planning some minor performance mods later and i want to have it rebuilt before anything. what is a decent price for an engine rebuild? those of you that have paid a shop to do it, how much did they charge you? thanks a lot!!!

I saw an add in a local paper for $1150. The deal was, you get a different engine when you give them your rebuildable block.

Around a thousand for a stock rebuild sounds about right. Good luck

how much $$$ for a rebuild?

I am in the process of rebuilding my 351W and by the time I am done, it will cost me about $1200 - $1300 for me doing it myself. That is the cost for
- bored .030 over
- new oversized pistons (hypertectic)
- all new bearings
- new crank
- reman rods
- heads serviced (new valveseals and seats)
- Assembly of bottom half of motor (crank, pistons, rods, etc.)
- New freeze plugs
- New Cam & Lifters - Edelbrock
- New timing chain - Edelbrock
- All new Gaskets
- New Oil pump & Pick Up
- New Motor Mounts & Trans mount
- New Water Pump - Weiand
- New Head Bolts - ARP
- New Bolt Kit - ARP
- New Valve Covers - Ford Racing
- New Push Rods - Crane Cams
- New Intake - Edelbrock

As you can see, it will built a little but will have more HP and Torque.
