SBF timing covers

Did ford ever have a timing pointer on the left or passenger side of the timing cover? I just built a '69 model 351w with the timing pointer on the right side. I'm using a Summit harmonic balancer. The timing marks on the balancer and the pointer are blocked from veiw by the water pump lower radiator hose connection. The Summit balancer has 2 sets of timing marks, one on the right side of the balancer and one on the left side, which leads me to beleive that Ford had the pointer on the left side on some small blocks. If so what years were they used.

Yes they changed them. I know that before 68, the pointer was part of the cover and on the left. From 68, they were bolt on pieces and sometime later, they were moved to the right side of the motor. Mine is on the right side(passengers and is bolt on. The engine is a 74.
