If you can go without wheels for a week or so, have them mediablasted and then powdercoated. I know they won't be cheap to do, but when done they won't be cheap wheels with a cheap finish.

Most alloy wheels run in the 80-100 starting price point, alloys won't rust, but will pit in harsh conditions.

Yes, I like the powder coat idea. The only cheap wheel I can think of are the old wagon wheels. They are typically steel and available in most widths, but they have gotten expensive. The last set I priced were about $75 each, I remember buying them for less than $25 per.

Look, see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?

there's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I like to think that I walk that line every day of my life.

I have been looking for cheap chrome wheels too, I see that even the American Racing Smoothies start at 90+ bucks.

I am still trying to locate plain stock steel wheels for my Mazda B2200 Ratrod project. Every junkyard is out of stock - but there is one more to call tomorrow.

Tires are getting to be expensive too!
