I would look on ebay for a diagram or manual. It should have pictures of the harness layout too.

But really if you are organized and do not get in a hurry, you should have no problems just switching everything over. The 78 wiring is good correct? So if you swap everything from the 78 over to the 79, everything should fit. If the 78 had gauges, and the 79 does not, you will need to swap all the wiring and the clusters over.

also since some of the wirse under the hood might be burnt and need to be replaced would or could i put a piece of tape on each wie and label it and plice the wire or rather cur the wire that has had heat on it and add a new wire to it with a wire connector and use tape or heat shrink tubbing around it

I do not have a complete understanding of what you are doing? If you have two trucks there, and one has burnt wiring and the other does not, why not use the good wiring and plug it in?

The delay wiper wiring is all under the dash, as well as the cargo light. The cruise would probably have some wiring under the hood. I would look at both trucks and compare the wiring very carefully. You may find the wiring that is burnt, might exist in both trucks, and you would be able to just swap that part of the harness in.
