Dennis Carpenter at Pate Swap Meet

While I was avoiding spending any money looking at all the junk wanna be treasures, there was the Dennis Carpenter trailer. They were handing out free catalogs. But what caught my attention was all of the shiney chrome emblems sitting on the display table. There was this beautiful hood emblem, glistening in the brite sunlight. I hadnt really planned to buy any of these finish items until my truck was much closer to being completed. A box full of these at $25 a piece. For some reason, that seemed like a decent price. Since D-C is usually very proud of their stuff, I figured nice as that looks it could be a wall hanger or display for a few years. And its not going down in price any time in the future. I found out these were blems, but nothing visible to my eyes. Especially for a daily driver. It was prettier than the original one could have been or ever be made. Now I had already spent all of my alloted cash. I asked if he took plastic, and said just take it and mail them a check. How could I refuse that? Maybe take a whole buch of stuff at that price. He didnt even bother with getting my name or phone number. I did insist on him taking it, and filled out a reciept. I gotta hand it to them. Treating potential customers like that has my future business. Even tho I have stock piled most of their available parts already for my truck. Hope you guys enjoy the pic of this hood emblem much as I do sharing with you my experience today. After leaving the swap meet, I looked up the price in their catalog and it sells for $45. So for $20 less and 100% trusting me for the payment, I couldnt be happier. Then again some days it doesnt take much to put a big smile on my face.
