FACTORY ROLLER CAM 351W?

Before I begin looking for a 351W, I am trying to determine if a roller cam block is available for the 351. I know that the 302/5.0 had them from 85 (HO) and 91(?) for the standard blocks; did Ford ever make the 351 with a factory roller? I am not interested in the aftermarket conversions due to cost and cam availability; would like to find a block compatible with the factory roller lifters and cam (like the 5.0s). Anybody know about this? Thanks!

FACTORY ROLLER CAM 351W?

In 1994,Ford put a roller camshaft in the factory 351s found in Broncos&pickups. So a factory roller cam 5.8L does exist.I'd check with a Ford dealer's parts department for specific factory part #s Back in 2000,F.R.P.P. offered a complete EFI5.8L engine(M-6007-P58) which was roller-cammed,but from what I've heard, they sold out of these replacement engines. The catalog name was:" 1997 F-250 5.8L COMPLETE ENGINE".In the 2001 catalog, they no longer list it.

FACTORY ROLLER CAM 351W?

Thanks! So is it safe to say when boneyard hunting that 94 and later truck and van 351s have roller cams? Would a Ford Motorsport or aftermarket 5.0 camshaft be interchangable in that block?

By the way, was the 95 Cobra R a roller cam block? I am fairly certain that the Lightnings were 351s with hydraulic flat tappets...
Lots of questions... Thanks much for the information.

You could be right about the '93-'95 351 H.O. engines.I think these weren't roller-cammed-unless the 1994&1995 engines used a roller cam.A Ford service publication from '94 stated that both the truck EFI 5.0L& EFI 5.8L engines were using a roller cam,but it didn't mention anything about the Lightnings' 5.8L.The Cobra 5.0L should have a roller cam.I'd contact F.R.P.P.'s "hotline",or e-mail them for more detailed infomation on interchanging 302&351 pieces. They should be able to tell you the specs on both the stock 5.0L H.O. Mustang cam,and the 351 truck cam from '94-'97.

FACTORY ROLLER CAM 351W?

I have at present '96 f150 5.8 4x4 eddy bauer that has ,I'm told by dealer mech. thatit has a roller cam. I think all late injected, computer 302 &351 has roller cam. I had '85 351whi output that did not have roller. The ,85 '86 injected, computercontroll 302 would nock the sock's off the351 h.o. hate to say that. The eng. in the "96 along w/od was stronger better mileage but lazy at 50-60 mph in od. The 96 has much drivability than 85
