Question 1987 cold and hot start problems

Done sofar and working ok: cyl. compression check, glow plug test, fuel lift pump pressure and flow test, replaced all injectors, copper washers and o-rings, caps and connector hoses and clips, filters ok and tight, replaced all rubber fuel ines from tanks to tank selector valve and forward to primary filter and to lift pump, replaced return hoses, visually checked the tank selector valve, functioning ok. Wore 87 starter out and replaced with re-man 84 starter.

Question if fuel shut off valve/timing could be an issue - how to test? How to test if fuel pressure remains in HP segments while engine is shut off? Is there a check valve somewhere?

Lazy K is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Did you plug or bypass the water seperator? These give problems. I bypassed mine.

Lazy Kay - My truck does not have an OEM water separator. I have a Racor pre-filter with a water separator, without electrical hook-up. The truck runs fine, once the engine runs.
