PLC7.3 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
This has been posted on another site and explains why/why not....

Ok hear we go. I got in touch with Stanadyne Corp. and asked about our injectors, a topic that turns up often! Hear is the scoop.

"Although this is really a question for Navistar, I will provide you with some information.

There are three different injectors used in 6.9 & 7.3L engines - one for the 1984-1992 6.9's & 7.3's, one for the 1992 1/2 - 1994 engines that Navisatar referred to as the "P&E" (performance & emissions) engines and one for the 1994 turbocharged engines.

In reviewing the drawings I see that in addition to to different nozzle opening pressure for the injectors, there are a number of differences between the nozzles including:

different pintle diameters, pintle bore clearance, valve overlap length, valve extension etc. all which result in different valve lift vs flow characteristics and therefore result in the different injectors for the different engine applications."

Sincerely,
Mark Dionne
Manager, Product Support
Stanadyne Corporation

Pumps and injectors are matched to the specific engine builds/performance levels by year...... found on the timing gear tag.

92.5 E injectors and 5013 IP

94 TD G injectors and 5070 IP

Turning up the present IP may help you, you will need a pyrometer installed ..... read how to turn up the IP on Ziggsters page..... Ziggster's page

You will blow black smoke with g codes and if yousing the stock pump may have to advace timing as the higher crack presure would retard it. Also you may not see a huge perfomance gain might be a better alternative to try turning up your IP with the injectors you have. Just make sure you have a pyro first Its real easy to melt pistons on an N/A.

Nope, u wont blow black some with G codes and a stock pump. i am running rebuilt G-codes with a stock rebuilt pump. i have yet to turn up the pump but as of now it smokes a hair more then it did before, but it is hardly noticible. the performance increase might have been better throttle response and maybe 5 hp, but that was over old v new injectors.

Are you saying you are going to turbo it? That will definately help with power.
