1988 2.9 trouble

I just bought a 1988 4x4 2.9. It was not running. Someone had taking the fuel tank out and removed most of the vacuum lines. I feel like maybe one of the fuel pumps is bad. I also need to know where all the vacuum lines go. There is also a wire out of the wiring harness at the battery. Any help would be greatly apppreciated. Thanks Jeff

Hi, welcome to the site!

What makes you suspect a fuel pump? Can you hear both of them run for a moment when you first turn the key on? You can also jump the fuel pump terminal at the EEC test connector to make them run for testing purposes. Just run a jumper wire from the terminal shown below to a ground and the fuel pump(s) should run. You should check your fuel pressure at the same time, it should be around 40 PSI.

I don't have a vacuum digram handy for that year, but if you pick up a decent manual for your truck it should have one in it. Is the factory vacuum routing diagram which was originall installed under the hood gone?
