Not a good idea, it will produce too much boost. Here's some old threads on it.

Look in the classifieds on here, there were a few turbo kits for sale I believe.

Since you have played with the fuel now it is time to improve the intake and bump up the exhaust ...

Well really other then making some type of ram air setup you cant add more air then turboing if you already opened up the intake and the exhaust.

My truck is in pieces all over the barn. Mine is not like many others either. It is running a set of 97 F-350 Spring packs up front, a set of 97 Dodge leaf packs in the rear, a Dana 60 front out from under a 97 Dodge, and a 91 Cummins. Its in a ground up rebuild right now. I'll post some pics of the progress as it goes but I just pulled the old IFS front out and I'm now down to a bare frame, and a 10.25 rear. I may shove a Dana 80 under the rear. Its also going to have a Custom built C6 with full reverse VB and some other tricks. Oh and yes my truck has a turbo, it will be running in the 2.5 class when it is done. You can always run a glass pack on your truck and it wont affect it any, well after you heat it up with a torch then submerge it in water to break the fiberglass packing out of it.lol

Don't think you got a diesel pickup cheap, and now you are going to bolt on a bunch of afermarket stuff and make a fire breather. The engine you have is a old idi. There almost no hop up parts for this engine. Anything you install besides a turbo kit is going to be one-off custom made. There is really not much made for this engine. It's a totally different animal than the power strokes. It can make power, but you really have to know the ins and outs of diesel engines or you can ruin it in short order. Just by turning up the fuel you are already in risky territory without a exhaust temp guage.

Strap a decent charger on there and you will really be impressed. Make sure you have guages in it to monitor everything. Ken at DPS is the only guy I know messing with the IDI's. Give them a shout.
