Hey Mike,
If you don't get any takers, I have an idea. When I shipped my engine to Montana last summer, and then had it shipped back, I used uship.com. You specify what you need shipped, time frame, and pickup and destination locations, then different shipping companies bid for your business. You can also specify if you need lift assist at either end of the transaction.
I was able to ship my engine for about $250 each way, including insurance.
uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Vehicles or Moves
good luck,
Karl

you may want to check with amtrack. i think they are inexpensive and can ship in 24hrs.
just need to get it too amtrack and the receiver would need to get to amtrak to pick it up. they dont do door to door.
but the other bad news,,,,, a co-worker went to colorado last monday and returned today. i think he was very close to denver.
but your a day late and a dollar short.
