Anyone have a jackhammer? (serious)

Either one of those electric ones or something that can run on 20-25 CFM of air?

I have to tear up some walk/path way a few doors down to get to a leaking waterpipe, I might need it for a few days, depending on where the actual leak is.

I'm about dead broke for another few weeks and can't spring the coin to rent one right now...but happen to have a full tank of gas in the Honda to pick one up

Let me know I don't relish the thought of swinging a sledge right now.

We have one that mounts on the back of a 580B in place of the bucket, works off of the system hydraulics. It's a heavy SOB and a bit far up here, I don't think you could get it in the Honda...

Normally I hate to suggest the alternate manual method of concrete removal, because anything I can do with a machine is inherently more fun. But...

Dig the dirt away from the side of the walk, lift the slab with a long pry bar (6 ft or more) using a 4X4 as a fulcrum and smack the slab with a RBFH (10 lb double jack or more) where you want it to break. Then just remove the chunk and repeat as required. I actually found it less distructive to my back to do that and it doesn't p**s-off the neighbors with a bunch of noise!

Looks like that might be my alternative...though noise isn't an issue, other than me yelling out when I miss and smack my ankle

I've got a line on one with a compressor, but the engine hasn't run in years. The guys going to check with the owner of the unit and see if he'll let me test out the hammer, if it works I'll probably buy I (just a bit more than a 2 day rental on one)...although I don't know what the heck I'll do with it when I'm finished.

Never could sell a tool

We're just now starting to catch up with all this Uverse project stuff. Then add woman drama, & you get the idea of why I've been scarce. Is this compressor a big one, like on a trailer?

I'm not sure if it's on a trailer or not, I just got the info from my neighbor.

I was thinking, if it has a good diesel, you could sell just the engine on ebay or something.

I've got a big aircompressor (deisel) with a Ford industrial engine, it used to run okay and puts out 100+ CFM, but a guy came over several years ago to "adjust" the compressor stuff, and it never worked the same...it's an older "RotoAir", and I never could find a manual for it.

But, found out today the guy on Yosemite is paying 250 a ton for scrap iron...looks liek I'll make a few bucks on Monday
