GRUSSON is starting off with a positive reputation.
What Level Of Tune Do I Need ?

hello all,
i just got finished installing a set of cam phaser lockouts in my 2005 5.4 triton engine. the phasers were hammering, and the vct lockouts worked great! engine set at "0" degrees and locked. now i have the vct code on the dash. (expected this) and need a tuner capable of turning off the vct function in the ecm. is a handheld tuner capable of this, or do i need a pc based tune to shut it down and kill the code. i dont want to adjust the engine at this point, i just want to turn off the the vct.
p.s.
motor runs fine with no adverse effect at all. it runs just like the old 2v engine. ( ssssmmmmoooottttthhhh )

mbogosia needs to improve their reputation.
One of the tuners should chime in on this and help you.

You need a hard core F150 tuner when dealing with ECT and cam phasers --- and it needs to be custom tuning, not an off the shelf unit. Check out Troyerperformance.com --- he's the only person besides myself (I have several years in the industry) who has tuned my Roush F150.
