Can I swap 96 3.8 heads onto a 95 block?

I have a 96 Windstar with a blown engine, rods through the oil pan, anyway I happen to have a low milage 95 3.8 short block. Can I swap the heads from the 96 onto the 95? They are both 3.8 engines. I know the heads and both upper and lower intakes are different so I would have to swap the intakes too but will it all bolt up and run properly? l also know the water pump is a little different as is the timing chain cover and alternator but I think those differences won't matter or atleast I hope they don't lol. Also are there any brand of head gaskets that somebody might reccomend or will the felpro permatorque head gaskets work just as well? Please help if you can,Thanks.

Ask the dealer or ask NumberDummy if the short blocks are the same. I bet they are. I also bet that you will need to change the timing cover & water pump stuff. If the ignition systems differ, you will be swapping those parts too. Take the front head off the W* and inspect the head bolt pattern and tops of the pistons for comparison to the 95. If they are the same, check where the motor mounts are located... Old 352 engines had different varieties of mount bolt holes, so the 3.8 may have the same thing for FWD / RWD differences..
I would not like to be in your shoes doing this swap. I don't think you can take the engine out through the radiator hole, but must drop the subframe.

Actually I have already pulled the engine out and stripped to the block and will be bolting the new engine together Saturday morning. The engine and tranny must come out together so I pulled the subframe, struts, rack, axles and all. There is actually plenty of room to pull the engine itself out the top or through the front but being fwd the engine sitting sideways there is not enough room to seperate the engine from the tranny, the front of the engine hits the frame rails. Take the hood off and the whole panel below the windshield that the wipers are mounted to,it all comes off in a matter of minutes, some 18 or so bolts and screws.Once those are off theres plenty of room, hell even the upper rad support will pop off with a couple bolts. This would be such an easy job if all it needed was head gaskets but unfortunately thats not the case here.
