AC inop & blower trouble

As i was using the AC , It stopped blowing cold. thought that it was low refrigerant, but as I weent to charge it ,it had plenty of pressure. Also my Blower motor only works on high. Are these problems related? (fuses look good). Thanks

The fan and AC will be 2 separate issues. The fan problem is likely going to be the blower resistor or the fan switch.
Can you post the make, model and year of the vehicle? My crystal ball is in the shop for repairs.

Ok.
The only way to tell if it has "plenty of pressure" is with a gauge set, but there are some checks that you can do to help determine the problem.

Does the compressor engage when you turn the AC on (engine running)? If so, there's at least enough refrigerant to close the low pressure switch. If it engages but cycles on and off quickly, this usually indicates a low system charge. If it engages and cycles occasionally or not at all, there may be a blend door issue.

If it doesn't engage:
-Tap the front plate on the compressor with a broom handle or other long device and see if it engages. If so, the clutch gap is too wide. This is pretty common and easy to fix.
-Jumper the connector on the low side pressure switch and see if the compressor engages. (A paper clip works well). The switch is on the accumulator "can" near the passenger side firewall. If it engages and the system cools, the switch is bad. (pertty common). If it engages and the system doesn't cool, you are low on refrigerant. (very common) Don't run it for more than a minute or so like this, as compressor damage can result. Just long enough to determine if it will cool.

If the compressor doesn't engage with either of these checks, there is an electrical issue. Do these checks and post back the results.

If the system is low on refrigerant, you'll need to rent or borrow a gauge set and a vacuum pump to properly service the system after finding and repairing the leak.

I tapped the front plate of the compressor & that did the trick. My fan still only works on high but now I know where the resistor is to replace it . Thanks for the help lsrx101

Way Cool! I'm glad that is all it was. You will need to adjust the clutch gap or it will keep happening. Remove the center bolt on the clutch (8mm head), slip the clutch off (watch out for falling shims), remove a (or the only) shim and reinstall the clutch plate. The gap isn't critical, but you want under .015"-.020" or less without the clutch rubbing when disengaged. Usually removing one thick shim does the trick but if you can't adjust it with what is there, the dealer sells a shim kit for less than $10. If it takes more than 10 minutes to adjust the gap, you took a beer break in the middle. .

To break the bolt loose, squeeze across the clutch and pulley with a big pair of channel locks. Make sure the bolt is tight when you reinstall it. Use a drop of LocTite if you have it.
