I've always wondered why someone doesn't make a bolt on portal setup for the dana 60, it seams like it'd be "easy" enough to make one that replaces the whole knuckle, use a 2.1 reduction and that would be the end of axle breakage, then you could run higher gears in the diff, which would be stronger as well, I would think the rear would be even easier to set up, at least on a semi floater. I better start saving my money

If you had a bolt on protal for a D60 would you have to have the torque tubes and other stuff too? or would a normal suspension work ok?

"Normal" suspension would work. Torque tube is just another suspension type. Could run whatever you want with bolt on portals. I would think regular leaf springs might have some problems with axle wrap with all the extra leverage of the portal though.
