first flat

I'm kinda bummed right now. I had just gotten onto the interstate on my way home from work and my tire went flat. I pulled onto the shoulder as quickly as I could to keep from messing up my tire but it was no use. I pulled my tire off and found what looks like a hole left by a 1/2 bolt. What really ticks me off is I only had 2305 miles on my 2008 Lariat Scab and now I have to buy a new tire. Oh well, at least I made it home safely.

I agree. On a sidenote I didn't know my truck could stop so fast.

Stock tires are GARBAGE. Take em all off, including the spare and buy some real tires. You will almost pay for those in the flats you saved fixing. If you got a set of four hardly used tires, you could try selling them, helps with the cost. Or do what I did and keep them, so when you trade your truck in, it has almost new tires, and you rode on quality the whole time!

not all stock tires are garbage. you get what you pay for. My Wrangler A/TS are a nice decent tire. 20,500 miles with 0 issues. No flats and about 75% wear still left.

If I just wanted a nice cheap tire that got the job done, I'd buy them again. Personally, I want a beefier tire (M/T tire), so thats why I'll be switching them.

I will admit that those General Ameritracs should be piled up and lit onto fire...try going 4x4 with those POS. I've gone offraod and came back with chunks of rubber missing on them (brand new 1998 F-150 in fall of 1997)
