What weight actuator has people been using on a full tilt frontend? I'm working on a 54 that will be all metal. With just tilting the thing I wouldn't think it would need to be to big.

I have a full tilt front on my 51 and researched this long and hard.

I found there was a tremendous difference in price range and capacity. I'll attach a couple pictures of mine, and leave the link for the actuators I went with. I got a 400Lb actuator because the dimensions and configuration is what fit. Also, the lighter capacity models move fairly fast and the 400lb model moves at just the right speed. But you don't need near that kind of capacity (but remember where the actuator is pulling from and the lack of leverage it has down low). The prices were all so close I figured the extra capacity would mean a stronger build as well. It was only $125 and it works absolutely perfect. I got the 12 inch. Check out my gallery about the full tilt front. I have added a few things to strengthen it up lately. Feel free to ask questions or for pictures anytime. Here's the link for the one I ordered:

12 Inch Stroke - Linear Actuators, Linear Motors

And a couple pics:

You can buy their brackets for mounting, or just make them out of angle iron and bolt them in.
Good luck!
