Left turn signal wire bad on truck?

All my lights work on my truck but today I was wiring up a trailer and the running lights work on the left light but the brake light, turn signal and hazard do not come on, on the left side of the trailer. Its got me puzzled. I Went to the back side of the plug on my truck and the wire for the left turn signal is constantly hot, like the person who wired my truck put the running light wire and turn signal to the same one on accident? Any ideas? Should I just find the wire coming from my left turn signal and splice into it for my trailer plug? Thanks
Real quick...Is there a separate relay/flasher for just the trailer plug independant from the flasher for my actual truck? Thanks
