Vacuum Leak After Installing K&N Intake?
Finally bucked up and bought a cold air intake. Went with the K&N. Throttle response and gas mileage are noticeably better. HOWEVER...
I hear a high pitch whine/whistle (i.e. classic vacuum leak) sound whenever I accelerate, primarily at lower speeds. I wouldn't think this is a normal thing, but thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced this.
I had the wife bring the RPMs to 2000 (where I hear it most) and squirted all of the seams/connection points with WD40. The engine never bogged. I checked all of the lines in the vicinity of where the work was performed; nothing. Any ideas?

ranstl,
It's the design of the intake that is causing your problem. I bought the K&N and had it on my truck for less than 24 hours before I took in back and bought the Airrade system. I think it has something to do with the relocation of the throttle body by installing that bent plenum that causes the problem.
Needless to say, I didn't pay $$$ to K&N to have the truck whistle down the road. Got a full refund from the vender, who confirmed with the K&N Rep that they "are known" cause this issue. I have had the Airrade on the truck well over a year with no problems. It's Quite and the results are identical.
