why not just try and find a couple of high flow cats to replace the stock ones. I don't think you'll find an aftermarket Y for the 2005 and up because they improved the design and they are much less restrictive in these models. Seems kind of soon to have blocked catalytic converters - how many miles on the truck?

you are right this is not a y-pipe. The cats are next to the engine.
WHat caused it is unclear. The truck already has 160,000 miles on it so warranty is out. Maybe the injectors are bad. I think there is a tsb or somehting on injectors if the idle is rough. I hope a muffler shop can scab in some universal cats.

Usually, weak spark will be the culprit. Old spark plugs (gap widens as they get older) will cause unburnt fuel to flow to the cat, which will do it's job and burn up the fuel....but too much gets to the cat, causing it to get real real hot. The ceramic matrix cracks when it gets too hot and falls apart, which is what causes the cat to clog.
