How would you get the glass off of the passenger side mirror?......does the plastic trim piece around it come off with it?

BTW this is for the lower convex glass on the towing style mirrors

The plastic trim around the edge actually covers the entire back of the mirror. The glass is glued to this piece and this piece is snapped into a ball and socket type of fitting to give it the movement necessary for adjustment. I don't know why you need to remove it but you will most likely break it doing so.
