1964 Falcon Club Wagon

Hi Group
I went to Cleburne Tx this weekend to look at a 57 F100
but it was sold when i got there.
But while i was there looking around, I found a Prize.
A 1964 Falcon Club Wagon.
I didnt know that Falcon even made a van. It was sweet
original inside and out. It was on a lot for sale, but I just
dont have the moneys for that Sweet Girl
Wow Falcon made a van

seems like I remember driving in a ford van very similar to that when I was very young, I know it was a ford, but makes me wonder if it was possibly a Falcon? Those are nice!

I just happened to find this one on the local Craiglist today:

1961 Ford Falcon Window Van (E-100)

He's asking $1000 for it.

Probably the same reason Ch**y called their van a Corvair. The Falcon car was the competitor of the Corvair car.

T'was a FoMoCo marketing ploy. Falcons sold like hotcakes ** when introduced in 1960, so using the Falcon name on some Econoline models gave it name recognition when first introduced in 1961.

Like Econolines, the Corvair came in wagon (Greenbriar) and pickup versions, which Chevy called a "Ramp Side" because it had a side loading door.

The Corvair models were a failure. Because of the rear engines, the floor wasn't flat, and loading them was a PITA.

** Falcons outsold Corvairs by 5 to 1.

btw: When Ralph Naders book (Unsafe at any Speed) about the dangers associated with the Corvairs rear suspension was published, sales dropped to nothing.

The 1965 Corvair models corrected the earlier models suspension ills, but it was too late. Sales never recovered, the Corvair was cancelled in 1967.
