Rebuilt pump/shift firmness

'94 IDI turbo crew cab, F-350 automatic...

Had the injection pump rebuilt over the winter and all is good there. However, now the auto tranny doesn't quite shift as firm as before. Since all this truck does is pull a race car trailer, I'm afraid of hurting the tranny over time. It's not that it slips, but it could definitely shift firmer. I thought I read where there was a connection relating shift firmness to the injection pump-maybe the guy that rebuilt the pump didn't get it set exactly how it was before? Would this have anything to do with the FIPL that I read about on here? Hopefully there's a simple adjustment I can do myself do fix this...

Thanks...
