How are the rivers and back water affecting everyone? Does any one need any help? At the Vidalia/Natchez crossing they are predicting it to crest higher than 1927 or 1973. They have already shut down the Isle of Capri in natchez earlier this week. If any one needs any help please post here and let us know how we can help.

IT SUCKS!!!!

Family has put off all fishing until the rivers fall, water is too muddy for redfish and trout in the atchafalaya bay

 

one of my coworkers brought up a good point today. hurricane season is right around the corner. if one comes while the river is this high, the chances are higher for it to actually follow the river

 

I was in Natchez today on a quick trip, and decided to go look at the River, boy o boy that sucker is high, in fact it looks like it's about to top the levy on the west side by that new hotel, looked kinda scary to me.

 

actually the opposite is true. the higher the river, the more cold river water follows into the gulf keeping its temp down. Its the warm gulf water temp that help feed and strengthen hurricanes.

 

Yeah I wish that I would have taken a pic of the river in Natchez before I came to work. Show these texans what a real river looks like.

 

I crossed the Sun-Shine bridge in St.James last week and i will say that it was the first time in a long time i Saw the river so high. I taked to my neighbor and he said that if the weather conditions are just right we could see another flood of 1983 in my area

 

well ill tell ya its makin my life miserable . i work on the water as a towboat captain and it just makes everything hard for us and 10 times more dangerous . its gotten to the point where we cant train up and coming personel untill it comes down.
