Dude, i hate to bust your bubble, 42ilbs of boost is nothing. Even on a 7.3 with injectors and turbo upgrade. I guess they only make 50lb boost guages for the 6.4L. just kidding, but, I would look to see in the very near future, one "BIG" single turbo options as a mod, being mounted on the 6.4L. So looking back now, i guess i was not joking about it removing one.

Oh your right...for a competition truck....race truck..etc a single turbo would be the best....but for a driver, man the stock setup sure can make some boost...I have seen 52PSI on my gauges.

I guess I need to go out and spend $10,000 so that my truck doesn't sound like a crown vic, then have to pull the cab off and recalibrate the entire motor to run with one aftermarket turbo. But hey, it'll sound better to the only person who said they don't like it in the 100+ replies I got from this and other forums.

I cant think of a better way to screw with a $45,000 dollar truck.

Bottom line, with twins, and those injectors, it does not sound right. It sounds like the EPA complient vehicle it was designed to sound like. Why do you guys buy these to just tear them down. It just does not make sense to me. I am not harrasing you all, just asking a serious question. There are so many other decisions when buying a diesel if you want a loud truck.
. R U Kiddin me........sounds like a hater to me..... Its great when people come in here that dont know what there talkin about.

Number one its not a twin turbo setup its a sequential turbo setup. So which one would you take off.

The stock turbos will pump out 54PSI effeciently with just a tune. That makes about 540 Hp and 1100 FTLBS to the wheels. What do you have to do to a 7.3 to get that????? I'll help you, Lots of money and a big list.

Its not that I hate the truck, I am a ford guy.

So Heres the story, I come on here to listen to a cool 5" open exhuast on cool 6.4L superduty. I click on the first vid, I hear no whislte, and a verry gasser like exhuast note. I mention about it on here that it resembles a crown vic exhuast note to my ears.

Second video I click on has this guy who guts the stock exhuast system, goes out on a gravel road, and tries like hell to get his truck to make some noise with no DPF or cat. He does all of those u-turns, take offs, and drive-bys with nothing more than a gasser exhuast note, still cannot hear any whistle.

Then I note why would you gut thousands of dollars worth of DPF and exhuast piping that you paid full value for on a new truck? Now a used truck with thousands of miles on it I can understand modding becuase things at that point are wearing out.

THen I note if you are going to gut all of that precious metal, why not go to a single turbo set-up to achieve the decibal level and performance that you are aiming for.

Now I am noting, and am making sure that instead of saying "cool" or "sounds wicked"
I am going to say how it realy sounds, after viewing three vids of it-Like a crown vic.

I am not morale support, I call it what it is. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, flys like a duck, then it is a duck my friend. Respect me for having my opinion. You may not like it after paying that much money, but it is what it is.

Secondly, yes , since they are sequential turbos they have two seperate wheels, so i would say that these wheels spin independently of each other, so then I would guess that you would have to remove both to install just ONE huge aftermarket!?

Yes the 7.3 does not make 500+ hp one a single tune, but it can make 40 lbs boost with just a tune and a turbo upgrade, that was my only point. Apples and oranges my friend, you cannot compare the two, I agree. Just saying that your dang exhuast sounds like a gasser. DO not take it personal!

As I said....I know what these trucks sound like with the DPF off and they dont sound like a gasser....I think mine sounds pretty good, and still very quiet in the cab...the video does it no justice at all.

Heres a short vid of mine...my wife was driving and got off the throttle right when it was spooling up...but you can hear the sound and also here the turbo as she lets off.

Heres another crappy video...I had the camera sitting on the ground and tried to get the footage myself...you can hear the turbos in this one as well.

So you watched the videos huh......Hmmm. Because if you knew anything about these new trucks you would know what the stock system looks like. And I did several passes with the camera under the truck and it clearly isn't the stock exhaust system gutted. Ford sure as hell didn't put a stock 5" exhaust system on my truck.

And I also was not trying to make the truck sound loud in the video, the truck never went over 2000 rpm when I was recording.
