Looks like there wont be as much storage behind the seats in the reg. cabs anymore.
I remember a little while back Dearborn Derek said that the space is still there, they just made the main doors longer and eliminated the rear access doors. I like the looks of this model better and it should take away that blind spot when you look to the sides. The downside is that it's not as easy to get to your things that you keep behind the seat.
If that is the same length with longer doors then you should be able to see the seats. Even with them all the way back. Unless they go all the way back to the wall now.

Looks good, but I too like the small access doors. Makes it alot easier. Still a good looking truck though.
Its nice to have that space to put tools/toolboxes. So you dont have to fill a fourth of your bed with a tool box. But I agree it is still a good looking truck.

I would bet that the elimination of the little doors is a cost cutting measure. It will now be like the standard cab Toyota with space behind the seat but harder to reach. One reason I bought a Ford was because of the space and convenience of the storage behind the seat. If I was in the market for a new truck, I would get a standard cab 08 rather than the more inconvenient 09.

It does not look bad in my opinion but I do sure miss the access door. IMO Almost everyone that hasn't used a regular cab with the access door thinks they are ugly and stupid. IMO Almost everyone that has actually got to use them loves the things. We will probably get our next ones with that box behind the cab so we wont have to worry about storage space but it was convenient having that little door.

Well, if they kept the same amount of space behind the seat that would be ok. My '06 R/C does have it's drawbacks, like playing musical doors in a crowded parking lot when the fool next to you parks too close and you have to be a contortionist to move around the doors. Also, the Ford Service Manager at the local dealership tells me he thinks they went back to the two door setup to help with the structural integrity of the cab, seems the vibration issues are more prevalent in the R/C than the others. Which may be true, hit a rough R.R. crossing at speed in a R/C and the doors will rattle from the lack of a support post between them. If the room is there, and the seats slide forward enough to load stuff back there fairly easily, I'm for it, if the result is a stronger, quieter cab.
