Should I buy my IDI back??

Hey Guys....

Long time no talk....

Well, I had a 1987 F350 4X4 IDI and sold it to buy my PSD a year ago... Some of you may remember me....

I have the chance to get it back...

It has:

6.9L IDI

ZF5 speed rebuilt before I sold it

king pin D60 front, sterling in the rear, all brakes done recently including seals and E brake cables...

All new tie rods, new steering box, axle joints just done, and king pins re-built

New rad, starter, alternator, glow plugs.....

The list just keeps going....

Pics:

I can have it back for $2500....

I think its a good deal... the D60 is worth $1000+ and the diesel ZF5 thats fully rebuild is worth a good bit too.....

What do you all think?
Bob

I looked at the first picture thinking, you must have posted the wrong truck.
Then the next picture, I'm thinking that that truck is kinda tore up, missing trim on the front fender. Third picture, I'm going "what's with the paint lines not lining up" and "the front looks great why is the back so..." Then it hit me
I'd say if you have the money, buy it back. Sounds like there has been at least the purchase price in recent work done to it. Nice truck!!

I did most of the work before I sold it...

The 1987 rad support was SOOOO bad that I ended up finding that front clip and swapping the whole thing... I thought they were the same colors and all, who would have thought ford would have changed the paint lines??? If I get it back I will fix the body and paint it all one color...

I really liked the truck...

You can get that much out of the D 60 and ZF 5.

I seem to remember telling you that you would be back.

So since here you are back again, Hi .

LMAO

So how is the Stroke treating you?

What's to think about. High pinoin king-pin D60, IDI, New front clip, ZF 5 spd.
You're wasting time talking to us right now!

That really sucks that the paint-lines don't match up. It looks like the paint is pretty good otherwise.

Actually I remember that too.

Simply put, you have one of the all time best configurations in that truck. 5 speed tranny, D60 front, and of course the 6.9L engine. As for the paint, repaint it!!! its not like it would cost that much since there aren't any holes to wield up.

Yeah yeah... Thanks Dave

My stroke is AWESOME... I love it!!! Dynoed at 371 RWHP in my economy setting and have added more since then... Bet in a higher chip setting I am close to 450 or 475 RWHP....

I always wanted to keep building the IDI, but waiting and waiting for my turbo kit made me anxious... I pulled a good move and got the stroke....

I knew I would probably buy another IDI, but when my old one came knocking back at my door....

I just dont know what to do with all these truck.... considering I walk to work....

I guess I should take a poll of what color to paint the truck... Gun metal or red???

Gun metal sounds good to me.

Red vehicles have the highest accident rate of any color.

Not sure if that is because of the emergency squads running red or all the red sports cars.

Its either that, or find a whole truck, like an F150 with a good body and mechanical troubles and swap the body over.... They seem easy enough to find for $1000.... I cant even find someone to paint the truck for that... assuming I do the body work...

Thinking it would look cool as an 80-86 this time
