Check out mustangs plus, in the tech pages they did a EFI swap on one of there mustangs. It is the late model mustang swap, so there was the firing order issue but it worked not bad. They also mention Ron Morris performance, who does a lot of EFI swap stuff including harnesses and EGR delete kits. I agree with Papas pride to find a crown vic/marquis for a donor (which is what I have to be installed on my 68 stang). You can find little old lady driven vics with low miles for realy cheap, as oppossed to usually thrashed and beaten stangs.

Hey, where can I find my 289 head ID numbers? Are they under the rocker cover?

Ok, but where are the #'s located? Between the intake ports or something?

Unfortunately they're under the heads. I.e. on the bottom surface of the heads. You should be able to read them using a mirror if your intake manifold is off. And yes I think they're between the intake ports.

Ok new question, a friend of mine has a 89 marquee she's looking to sell but she thinks it has a 351w in it. Is that the same intake as the 302? Will that setup work? I can get 302 injectors if need be but this way I can get the whole car and everything and then just get injectors if I need to.

No. It wont fit, the 351 and 302/289 have different deck heights and are not manifold interchangable. Maybe double check, because even though 351s were available in marquis and vics, ive found it to be quite rare (anybody else?). I know you want to run your 289 but the 351 could be dropped in as well (might need a cowl hood)

Yes the 351W was quite rare in later '80s cars. I think it was offered in cop cars in the year you mention. I had one in a 1985 Crown Vic non police, but when looking up parts often the books claimed that the combination wasn't available.
It was an option with Trailer towing package in 1985 in Canada only, I think, with a 2V carb.

so I went to the pick yer part down here and found a crown vic they had just layed there today. Looked around and everything was there so i started tearing into it. Got the plenum, dizzy, intake along w/ the injectors and rails, entire wiring harness and computer. I unplugged what i could but i had to snip some wires that went to some sort of emissions stuff over on the pass inner fender. My question, whats the computer gonna do w/o a reading from the emissions stuff that i snipped? Also, after i brought all this up to the front to pay for it, they wanted $192 for everything. I wasn't expecting it to be that much at all so (as dumb as this sounds) i left it there and stuffed it all into a car so if i came back i could still get it. My other question, what kind of probability of success do i have doing this kind of swap? I'm adding up the price of a temp sensor, map, and any other possible sensors along w/ gaskets and I'm looking at around a possible $350 after its all done. Waste of time? Is this gonna be a pain in the butt?
