Freakin' sweet truck man! I like it a lot.

How you likin' that Ranch Hand? I'm lovin' mine so far! Got it back in December but didn't get it until January b/c they were backordered for about 3 weeks.

Nice heavy duty moose guard. Did you get the snow plow package to support the weight?

Hey Rusty, since the OP isn't online and you are I'll go ahead and take a guess for ya.

On mine (Tundra) the weight of the grille guard is only 112 lbs. My Tundra could take it without a problem and aside from maybe a little extra sway (which I didn't even notice a week later after I got it installed) and a little bit extra braking distance (also which I don't notice anymore), everything is fine.

If you want one, do it. They're strong as hell. Buddy of mine had one on his '06 Tundra that got plowed by an xterra going 40 mph. Totaled the Xterra but did only 8K worth of damage to the Tundra. Had it actually hit it dead on instead of by the left headlight, it probably woulda been less damage.

Oh yeah, I doubt he has the plow package on there. If he does, he certainly doesn't need it to hold the weight.

Rockstate,

Yeah, the plow package remark was a bit tongue in cheek. I've seen the headlight member bent back into the fender after "contact" with a moose but I'm sure it reduced the damage by a lot compared to having no guard.

I just have a little regular cab flareside so I think a guard would look a little out of place on it although it's good insurance.

Yeah, my buddy's brother hit a deer and they ended up selling the truck after that. It did some damage to the front fascia but I'm not sure how much.

There's a hunter green one down here with a Ranch Hand and some lights on there. It does look a tad out of place but I'll take some pics of it next time I walk by it. The reason his looks out of place IMO is b/c of the wheels he has on there. It's an XL model with chrome off-road wheels which aren't very tastefully styled IMO. If yours is an XLT I'm sure it'd look a bit better.

The Ford RanchHand grill guard weighs in at about 125lbs. It weighed down the front noticeably and the stock coilovers didn't seem up to the task...

That's why I went with aftermarket coilovers as well.

Its funny how one mod leads to a more expensive mod, but I was hoping to do some nice coilovers later on anyway, so this just gave me a good excuse to pull that trigger as well.

The coilovers and springs on them are much stronger than my stockers...I can sit on top of the grill guard now and the front barely sags if any, and I tip the scales at 250. I am very impressed with the coilovers.

Sorry for the long post...

Interesting. That's surprising that they couldn't hold it. I need to compare mine to my neighbor's Tundra again but I think mine's still taller (mines 4x4 his is 4x2).

What brand coil overs did you go with? (Nvm saw you have Icon)
