Try an old Chap Leader trick -

Go to user CP first, check PM's, look at subscribed threads, go to NEW POSTS, then rove....

Good tactic, piss off the people in charge.
The new search seems to work pretty decent, aside from the chronological order thing.
It's fast, I'll give you that.

Don't search...

HUNT!!!!

It always worked for me. Better to be proactive than to fade away

ashshade is starting off with a positive reputation.
I don't know if this forum did it or not, but I am just happy that you can search and come up with more than a list of what people have in their sigs.

In the "What's Going On" section at the bottom of the main forums page, there is a listing of all members who are online at the time. Regardless of the membername clicked on, what comes up is a username of "1911A1" with a last activity in 1969, 28 years before this forum existed. I used to be able to bring up a user's profile by clicking on their name in this section.

No big deal, just wondering.

My mind works on wording & date memory. If I search for specific words for certain threads in "relevance" ..IMO,they still need to come up chronologically.

I don't want to still be reading every listed thread by relevance only to go through a couple of pages from 2002,2003 knowing that thread was about 6 weeks ago.

Also, I don't read small print because it is too hard on my eyes
I don't know about your searches, but after I do a search I can sort the results by relevance (default setting) or date (what I use too).

So far I like the new search option better.

Funny thing though is that that name doesn't show up in the members list-

My first impression of this thread was to concur with Mr Jimi's post, as I would have thought that somebody who is associated with Internet Brands (FTE ownership group) would have had a user name (and title) similar to that of a Mod or Admin.

Given the fact that this thread has gone this long without evaporation into the ether may prove andersIB is legit (although I'm still surprised a MOD or Admin hasn't been by to confirm).

Jury is still out....

"Help me" -vs- "Do I belong here" never crossed my mind. But I'm kind of open about that.
