Lately it seems that if I do an advanced search and specify a certain forum or forums that I want to search, the forum software ignores those restrictions and searches EVERYTHING.

Ditto the above problem.

Dates on recent posts in the search results are broken as well. Do a search and order the results by date. Anything in the past two days shows up as January 8, 1970, January 9, 1970, etc.

Thanks....currently fabriacating an air/oil-separator setup for the supercharger. Plenty of kits for the Lightning for this, but the hosing is completely different for these. I plan to make it another article. I think I may have finally found the 1966 F100 I've been searching for. I'm checking it out this Friday. First thing for it, swapping a set of 73-79 i-beams and disk brakes. It will be nice to work on some older iron again.

Man... that signature image is, well, freaky! My dog ran!

"AIR/OIL Seperator"?

For bubbles in the lube system?

I know that superchargers and turbos are both lubrication system critical...

Q: How will the air purge when the unit is full?

No, its to remove oil from air getting sucked up through the valve cover to the supercharger. It ends up coating the intercooler and fouling the plugs. When you let off the throttle there is a momentary high vacuum in this line and it sucks oil up. Its a common problem with superchargers. I looked at the tubing on my supercharger and it was full of oil. Then looked down my supercharger with a fiber scope and its certainly not what I would call oil-free. The Lightning guys have been addressing it for years, and I'm making a similar modification for the Roushcharger. It can easily be a few tablespoons oil every month or less depending on driving habits.

The separator has a valve on the bottom, you check and drain it every couple of weeks. Very quick and simple process. Once I have it working I'll figure out a system for it to auto-drain into the oil system (there's a unit for the Lighting which does this, need to figure out how they do it).

Here's what will eventually happen if its not addressed: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/73...ml#post6135050

I don't know specifically what you changed, but I find that the new search setup narrows the results dramatically and for the user that if familiar with using the modifiers it can be remarkably accurate. I can remember having to scroll through pages and pages unrelated posts (even when you told it to sort by relevancy). Not so anymore. Much improved.

I recently set out on a dedicated search for all thread titles related to the picture contests, and ran into a few "short" results - but that may have been due to non-standard titles of all those thread topics.

So I backed off and PUNTED!

"HEY! YOU GUYS!!!"

And in 24 hours "HUMINT" rounded up all the pieces...

Now, if you wanted to test the system you could try searching for what I was at the time (all threads related to FTE picture contests).

But I think we got them all (RE: IB Adrian). What puzzles me is how to index any thread titles from now on in a way that makes them the very easiest to find using the search system as it is now, in other words the best thread titling format to use for any further contests that we do - keeping in mind that they will be three stage:

Primary contests (when pictures and info are posted up)
Top ten picture or truck choices (thinning out stage)
Final elimination polls

I think that the year should be the first datum.

The ideal being a standard title format that makes all the contest threads searchable under thread title (advanced search).
- Even if that means creating a "BLURB" that explains it.

So far, it is still being made up as we go along. But over time it would be good I think to have an index of each of them.

At some point I'd like to conference over them and see if contest categories can be standardised so that we know how many there will be, what genre they will pertain to, and when they can be expected to happen throughout a given year.

A schedule...

But I'm still amazed it's done so well so far!

*I'm still thinking about different needs for each segment and how best to make them work.

"WE" have only been doing this for a year so far. If YOU have been impressed - you can hardly imagine how impressed I have been by the success of it.

Ciao

I think I did do one search by username. Also by time frame, back two years to make sure. What I didn't do was go by other than thread TITLE - I figured that would create a landslide...
