Insurance

So, I called Geico yesterday. Spoke with a representative and aded the truck to my insurance The phone call went kinda like this:

Agent: Mr Adams, can you give me the VIN on your truck, please?

Me: Sure, it's F10JK699826

Agent: OK Mr. Adams, your premuim will be $73.14.

Me: A month?

Agent: No sir. Every six months.

Me: (Laughter)

Agent: Mr. Adams?

Me: (More, louder laughter)

Agent: Mr. Adams? Are you OK?

Me: (Barely able to speak, still laughing) OK...thanks.

I then hang up.

$146 for the entire year. I used to pay that a month for the Hummer and it wasn't near as fun to drive as the ol' Slick.

That is such a great feeling... When my wife insured her car she couldn't believe that it was $67 a year since she will only drive it occasionally.

You didnt get full coverage for $73.00. Mine is about $35.00 a month but, I have a $15K stated value policy, comp, and collision.

Mine is around that. I don't have collision, but I do have full comp and glass coverage. That's made up already by one windshield on one of these, and I've had it replaced once already.

All 5 of our cars have $0 deductable with full coverage. The other half thought I skimped on the deductible when she had to have her windshield changed on her Scion. She was surprised to hear that she didn't have to pay anything then called me about it.

Yeah -- mine is full coverage at $73 every 6 months...Hehehe...I just got the refund check in the mail today from my insurer. Seems they owed me $156 when I switched from the '05 F150 4x4 SuperCrew cab Lariat.

I know, I'm getting around 6 miles to the gallon less but I PROMISE in tag fees and insurance premiums it ain't killin' me one dang bit...

Hagerty Insurance:

If you have more than one vehicle insured, the cost is less than $75.00 A YEAR with a 5,000 mile a year mileage allowance.

That's full coverage at my stated value of $25,000.00.

I've been with Hagerty for 10 years. The best dang insurance company I've found for insuring old rolling piles of misery.

Hagerty also requires that your vehicle be parked in a totally enclosed garage when at home. I don't have enough room to fit everything in my garage

Mines about 120 per year through them, but when I get back to Canada, they'll probably tell me its 1 200 per year cause its a classic. Never makes sense to me what they charge here. Seems criminal to me.

Really? That's news to me. None of my old rides (7) are at my home.

There's barely enough room here to swing a cat, as the saying goes.

They're all in a storage garage several miles away, and they know that.
