Does anyone know of an HEI type distributor that will work on a carburated 300ci straight six? A large part of the harness in this truck is toast and I want to eliminate the whole computer controled mess.

 

I can't find any. You might as well buy a stock Ford duraspark II and wire it up. It's not too hard, and it's a good ignition system. You won't need the computer, just the module on the fender and a distributor.

 

If you are running the 1984 feedback carb, you will need to get a non-feedback carb as well.

Get the Carb, and a "blue" grommet duraspark II system out of a 1980, and you shouldn't have any problems.

1981 to 1983 300's can have a hybrid duraspark II system, with feedback carb, and MCU computer so stay away from those three years of duraspark II for the 300.
