Question New Wheels

I have a 79 ranchero that currently has 14'' rims on it. I am looking to put some 15'' rims on it for a little bigger appearance. The first question I have is, is there any backspacing issues I should know about? I was looking at 3.5'' and 4'' backspcaing. Second, should I do 15x7 all the way around or something like 15x4 up front and 15x7 out back?
Thanks

Ford offered Ranchero's of this vintage with 15" wheels.

They're the same wheels as 1977/79 LTD II's use.

1977/79: T-Bird and Cougar offered the same or similar 15" wheels. Make SURE you measure the bolt circle..some of these cars have a 5" bolt circle, used when rear disc brakes are present.

The 15" wheels off 1972/76 Torino/Montego's will also fit.

There are at least 100 different 15" wheels that will fit 1966/79 Ranchero's.

15" x 4.50 bolt circle...the 15" wheels Ford offered were as wide as 6 1/2 inches.

Ford also offered 14" styled wheels as wide as 7 inches.

15" wheels: Some are painted, some are styled aluminum, some are styled steel, like the Magnum 500 wheels.

New repro Magnum 500 wheels are available.

These were offered on 1969 and later Ford XL's, Mustangs, Cougars, Torino's, Montego's. The same 14 or 15 inch wheels will fit 1977/79 Ranchero's.
