Tis the 1960's.

All the trucks (and cars) back then did the same thing.

Turn the headlamps on, the parking lights turn off.

I have had my truck for how long? and just NOW noticed this when I did the headlight upgrade.

Wow! I didn't know it was supposed to do that...I just thought the wiring in my slick was screwed up!

airharley is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
If anything you may want to install a headlight relay system to cut down on the amount of power loss the headlights see running through the switch. Then you can have the running lights on at the same time as the headlights. There are a few kits premade out there. But if you are handy with wiring then making your own system is ubber simple and cheaper by $90.
