250 into a 1964 F100?

Would it make sense to swap a 250 I6 with auto trans from a 1973 Maverick into a '64 F100? Can I use 300 mounts? Will it fit in there OK ?

As always, Thanks for the info.

NO!

Waaay too underpowered an engine for an F Series truck.

Nothing but passenger cars ever used the 250 I-6 engine.

There's no motor mounts to install this engine in an F Series truck.

There's enough room in a F Series' trucks engine compartment to mount two 250's side by side.

Is it a 250? It could be a 200. Both engines look identical, and both were used in Mavericks/Comets.

200: the stroke is 3.13" / 250: the stroke is 3.91" / the bore is the same: 3.68"

Some early Bronco's (1973/74) and Econolines (1969/74) used 200's, but these models are gutless wonders.

I thought it wouldn't be a good idea power wise, I actually already have a 300 I am starting to build for it. I just saw that 250 runner and I got to thinking.........

Don't even really have to use the wallet. The '64 is getting the 300 and three on the tree from my '68 F100 after I rebuild it and then I am going to put a 302/T5 in my '68.
