Can anyone give me an update on this topic.. I have a 2008 f250 screw with the 6.4. completely happy with it so far.. only replace a headlight and a battery. of course I have only put 55k of easy miles on it..? (got it 7/4/07) Now that my warranties are not an issue and I plan on another 100k on it.. I would like to start helping my MPGs.. $4-$5 a gallon is alot of incentive. I dont have much concern with power as much as MPG increase.. I guesstimate I am around 13-14 avg mpg mixed use. 9ish when pulling a trailer. I'm curious if a DPF delete / Tuner package has bubbled to the top as a "best" option. Also.. has cost for install/ purchase come down at all? DFW texas area .. Thanks for the help.

The running gears would be something to consider. Ford puts a lot of 3.55 gears in the latest models but when I bought mine 373 was hard to find, most were 411. Dpf and tuners help and if you can do it yourself that saves $$

I'm sorry but don't be surprised when you don't get 27mpg on your 6.4 diesel....it just ain't gonna happen. No way and no how.
I would expect some increase in your Milage....but not double what your getting now...Sorry

When you tune it the gauge is WAY off. Mine has read 32.5 on a trip from Dallas to Austin and back. Actual hand calculated mileage was 18.

Only way to help your mileage is keep your foot off the skinny pedal, do intake/tune/delete (and it is easy to do yourself and save some money). If you have a 2WD you will have better mileage, but MAX you will probably get 21.

the 2008s are 3.73s, the 2009 and 2010s are 3.55s. The 4.10 was an option and I believe was standard on the 450s and up.

Standard gears in 08-10 F450s 4.30s with 4.88s as an option.

Brett11211, if the mech at that shop is telling you he is getting 27.1 mph avg in his truck, run, run away from that place because he would obviously have no idea what he's talking about. That or he is outright trying to sucker you into $2,000 worth of stuff that in reality is going to have a minimal impact on real world fuel economy.

I believe the 2009 MY F250 and F350 had 3.55 and 3.73 rears, and the 2010 MY 3.31 3.55 and 3.73
