The best way to figure out the offset you need is to actually measure with your wheel off and determine how much backspacing you can have. Backspacing and offset go hand in hand. There are companies that sell tools to do this or yoou can do it the old fashioned way with straight edges and a tape measure. Set a straight edge against your drum (or rotor) face, then measure from that to where the inside wheel lip will be. Remember to add about an inch to each side for tire bulge. If this measurement is about four inches and you want to run an 8" wide wheel than your offset is 0. Then measure from the same spot to the bed or fender to check clearance the other way. You'll want to make sure your truck is at it's natural ride height when taking these measurements. Hope I didn't confuse you and good luck!
