going darkside y-block needs new home

I have a 56 f600 ex-firetruck with 50k miles It runs and drives and I would like to find the engine and trans a new home before I pull it out. Im replacing it with a 5.9 cummins out of a 94 f700. If you know anybody that needs one please spread the word.
Thanks, Rusty

Does it still have the original "trash can" style fuel filter?

If so I would be interested in the filter.

I'm interested, if... Where in CA are you? is it still in running order, should be the same block as a 292 and suitable to boring out to a 312? I'm in Tucson. Wouldn't need the tranny though, I'm following with a 3 Spd Overdrive out of a similar era truck. Lemme know what you think? David

Whoops, I didn't read carefully enuff... "Running" you said, Yippee! I'm interested...

Looking for a good block to build. I've already gathered N rebuilt heads, found a 10 under 312 crank and rods turned down to a 292 to stroke it, and a vintage NOS set of Jans racing pistons. Gathered almost all other parts necessary to have my local shop assemble.

I ran a mapquest and see you're south of Freemont?

Could you get me any numbers off the block? I'll call Mummerts and see if he can help me I.D. the block to confirm it's suitable to bore to a Std 312?

I've got no idea how much it would cost to ship an Eng? I could investigate freight if you can crate it? My wife and I get out of the Desert Southwest to So Cal a few times over the summer, you ever get South?

I might be able to give that Eng the second lease on life it deserves in my 55 F100!

E- me off Forum if you think there's a way to work something out? Thx, David
