4WD - Rear lower control arm

Where do I get a rear lower control arm for a 1994 Aerostar 4WD? This is for the back wheels not the front wheels, on the Electronic 4WD model. My mechanic is trying to locate one at a wrecker. Isn't there anywhere you can buy this part in Canada? My mechanic says that Ford doesn't carry that part anymore. Is a wrecker my only option?

You talking about the 5500 or the 5538

the 5500 is obsolete but my obsolete warehouse shows to have 22 of them

the 5538 no one shows to have it, and junk yard is only option.

I don't know about that one. My mechanic diagnosed this problem. He just called it a "lower control arm". It makes a brief rubbing/clunk noise when I accelerate after stopping. I assumed it was the 5538, but I didn't know about the other one.

In that diagram, 5500 appears to be the UPPER control arm. If you need the lower arm, it must be the 5538. I assume they're the same on both sides?

I caught that after I posted the picture, the rear lower arms basic numbers were 5500 for so many years, grrrr and that one is so obsolete!!!

Looks like it's to the scrapyard to find a replacement.
