Anybody worried to buy 09 F150???

I had a friend who bought a brand new 04 F150 when the redesign came out... he still has the truck and it hasn't had any problems... however, I've also heard horror stories about people buying first year cars and trucks after a redesign and having nothing but trouble with them... is anyone out there concerned about this on the 09's?? I love the look of the truck and really want to get one but that keeps sticking around the back of my mind... what do you guys think??

I think the days of the first year horror stories are lessened if not eliminated by technology, computer modeling, etc.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I had the cash.

First of all evanpimp82, welcome to FTE! Second of all, I wouldn't worry about it considering modern design and manufacturing techniques.

I'd just be worried about all the dents you'll get from all the ladies throwing themsevles at your hot new truck.

There can be problems with any vehicle no matter what year it is in the production run, you take a chance buying anything that is mass produced no matter what. I'd say don't worry about it, chances are you'll get a good one. Reason you see people complaining about their trucks on here is because thats what these forums are for, people to find out what could be the cause of their problems and find the solution as well.

yeah and that goes for any brand no matter how many good things you hear or read about them. besides, even if you are having good luck with one, the manufacturer will probably recall it for something it seems lately.

More so than the first year factor, for me it's going to be fuel prices that will make it hard to decide(not that I can afford one now anyways).

first year problems were such a big issue years ago, I held on to that theory myself for a long time, I have to agree with other members here, not so much an issue anymore. Most of the new cars and trucks are really not having any major concerns when they come out and most have very little maint to be preformed until 100k which really sucks for us dealers but is really great for the customers. And Ford is really starting to build some high quality stuff. My dealer just came back from Detroit and he said there is some "absolutely beautiful vehicles coming our way" he also stated the 2010 Taurus is going to give Lexus a run for the money. He couldn't believe how great it looked.

Exciting times for Ford as they get back on track, makes me proud again to be part of the Ford family with some of the things they are doing.

Sure it will. It can't even give a Camry a run for it's money yet. The Lexus is way , way out of it's class.

There is a spy photo floating around on the internet, with no camo or anything, it does look really good, and it is a totally different car than what we have now.
