Nissian TITAN selling out to Dodge!
#16
When I read about the Titan being cancelled, I dumped it in a hurry...as I said, no one wants to be stuck with an orphan. The resale value drops to nothing.
I was lucky to sell it when I did, I actually got 4500 grand more for the pile than 3 local Nissan dealers offered me.

3 Fords (1965 F100-bought it new, and 2 '63 Galaxies), 2 1930's Packards, a '62 Bentley, a '63 Studebaker Hawk, and comin' up when I can find a nice one...a 1974 or 1975 F100/150 Super Cab.
I'm retired, and only drive around 200 miles a month. so the wear & tear on the old piles is minimal.
The Titan was 26 months old when I dumped it, it had 5328 miles.
My wifes SUV lease expires next month, so she's getting the replacement for the Titan I bought, a 2008 Saturn Vue.
Until I find the Super Cab, I'm driving either the "higher mileage" of the 2 Galaxies, which currently has 82K miles, or the Saturn. The other Galaxie is a mint original with 40K miles.
I don't drive the 65 F100 much anymore...fitting behind that steering wheel was a snap in 1965. Today, with the arrival of Arthur, fitting behind the wheel, in two words is: Im Possible.

Dodge & Nissan what a comb. I like the Cummins but I don't care for Dodge & I despise Nissan. I owned an 02 Dakota 4x4 it was a problem on wheels from the get go. I had a friend with a Titan that went back under California's LEMON LAW. If you take two pieces of junk and combine them it still is JUNK.
As for the Hemi, I found out today the 07 300s requires mid grade fuel. Just what people need with such reasonable gas prices. Great selling point. I'll stick with Ford or GM.

I thought it was funny that my neighbor went from a 90's I6 F150 to a 2008 Titan crewcab just as the news that they were selling out to dodge got out a few months ago. I would imagine it could be hard to find parts for the truck in the future not to mention the resale value in the future. If they sold a few and then discontinued why would the aftermarket continue making parts also. Money well spent lol

The Nissan is going to be a rebadged Dodge? That's progress? Hmmmm. My co workers that have owned Dodges are rid of them. Except one guy. And nothing on his truck that is electrical works correctly for more than six months after getting it fixed. right now his wiper motor is out of commission. The motor actually works, just doesn't work in the truck! And the brake lights sometimes work, and sometimes they don't work. The cruise. Same way, on again off again...He considers it to be high mileage. It has 110K on the clock. Meanwhile, my F-150 has 155K...D'oh!
I wonder what will be the Armada's replacement? Dakota? Nothing would be the smart thing to replace it with...
And as for where they build the Infiniti SUV, who cares. Take production of all the Nissan nameplates back to Japan. The joke is that the Nissan's had better build quality in the US of A, than in Japan a few years ago. I guess that they will go the way of Izuzu and Subaru. Toyota will own all except for Honda and Nissan. And Puegout can keep Nissan.
