you could try a small screwdriver and some fluid film (works great) but i myself think it would be easier to plug in a new one.

Replacing it means to replace the whole harness. The contacts just need to be cleaned. Someone should make and market a tool for cleaning, like a battery post tool.

Not that big of a job....it just plugs into your tail light harness mounted to the frame above the rear axel..but like I said a small screw driver and fluid film works great.

Get some electrical contact cleaner, a small screwdriver and some toothpicks. Once you get it cleaned out it would be wise to use some dielectric grease and find a cap for the plug.

I found one at the rv dealer. JR products part #01000. It's a small wire brush. Shines up the contacts. $6.49
