Truck needs some nerfs, any recommendations?

I just bought an '05 F150 with a crewcab, and i can't seem to be able to decide on nerf bars for it. I'm not to familiar with what to buy...any ideas on what looks the best? Price isn't too much of an issue...

I went with the largest chrome ovals from ford for my 04. Bigger diameter works and looks the best

Buy the Ford ones...The others look g-a-y. (IMHO)

Yep, the 5" Ovals...They put the competition to SHAME!!! Especially after looking at the Dodge's and the Chevy's "factory ones"...Aftermarket ain't no better either. Seriously.

Ya' know, for once I don't think there will be much of an argument. (thinly veiled as a discussion)

well, this thread is totally subjective...... what looks the "best" is going to vary with everyones taste. i dont like the oem styles at all, and dont think they are worth even half of what you pay for them..... i got a set of aftermarket 4" oval black powder coated, and i personally think they are awesome. and with the price of 150.00 shipped, how can you beat that? but, to each his own !!!

if your set on buying oem, watch ebay.... they are always on there.

I have a 07 XLT SCAB. I installed a Westin 4" oval powder coated black step bar. It looks good with the silver truck and half the price of the 4" stainless steel polish bar. This is just my opinion.

+1 I got a set of stainless steel off eBay for around $150 (can't remember the exact price) and they've been on there for 3 years now with no issue. The OEM's are normally overpriced IMO.

Hell man, 99.9% of the threads are "subjective"...I'm just glad I got to thrown my .02 in there at the beginning for once!! You got what sounds like a pretty good deal, but I prefer mine. When it's something I want, I don't look at the price very often, or compare items. I see how much they are, and then come up with the money for it.

I'm also looking for some Nerf bars.
Something I noticed on most of the aftermarket ones is the limited grip pads on the top.
The pads are usually small.

The factory ones have the grip on most of the surface of the nerf bar, which makes it safer to step on.
When it's dry, any nerf bar is fine,. but when it's wet, thats what I'm concerned about.

Like others have said, the factory nerf bars are way overpriced.

Decisions decisions

Are you saying it's coming loose, or that the plastic is wearing down?
