SCT-X3 Tuner prices

Just wondering if I'm getting a good bargain for an sct-x3 custom tuner. The guy at the Mustang Shop quoted me $390 with 3 custom tunes for my 2002 F150 5.4L. He seems to have a great reputation for custom tuning the sct tuners and knows alot about Ford f150's and Mustang's.

I was looking at a Diablo Predator and was quoted $480.....seems like a rip-off to me but I want your thoughts on this.

I took the plunge. I thought about an x3 but got a Livewire. I read up on tuning EFI and it's like tuning a carb but only if it has all the removable bleeds. It's a bit more complicated but 15 years at Holley carb and racing weekkends taught me a few things. I bought the software program to tune the truck to just the way I want.

I was looking at the livewire set-up, the X3 has plenty of tweeking options but I'm not as experienced as you in tuning so the custom tunes are good enough for now.

I must say it made a world of difference compared to the old canned tunes the 1715 tuner I had before.

Start out slow and then get into trouble later. LOL SA books have an excellent book on tuning you can purchase in soft cover or download to your computer. It's quite comprehinsive in it's explanations. Also you can order a CD from F.A.S.T. that does a lot of explaining what to do.
