Hagerty vs grundy

Hi guys,
I have read post here over the year the have said Grundies coverage is cheaper and more extensive the hagerty. I have had hagerty for years, and with my yearly policy about to expire, I called Grundies for a quote. They were 80 dollars more. I called hagerty and asked about the coverage (or lack thereof according to some posts here). They say they DO cover if you drive you vehicle to work, And if you run an errand. They do not insure daily driver vehicles.
I'm sure this will start a hot topic, but I wanted to say they appear a good insurer from what I see, I was disappointed in Grundies cost.

I've had Grundy for a couple of years now. I have no experience with Hagerty. I can drive my modified 48 as often as I wish and under any circumstances. The only related requirement about it not being a daily driver is the fact that you must have a second vehicle before they will insure your "classic". I pay $170 a year for $10K in coverage. Of course, they realize that I do not drive the truck from about the end of November until the first of May because of the ice and snow here. I asked about putting the coverage on hold during the winter but that was not allowed...

For $80.00 more so that one can Drive your "Classic" as Much as you Wish, now that's well worth the extra funds.

Tried both. After Colo laws changed to tort reform costs went up so I now use State Farm. 56' Effie, 45,000 agreed,no deductable,3 fb tows per,210.00 /year and 13.00 rebate after 1 year.
63' Futura Convert, 20,000 agreed, 0 deductable,3 FB tows per, 170.00/year.
SF has my classics, AF has my 5 daily drivers and F350 MH, Farmers has my LI, so I try to keep them all honest.

I am calling both and now have American Collectors ins. on my trucks and avanti--and have Nationwide for my daily drivers. I put the 1971 F100 on Nationwide and the agent acted like I had a dinosaur---I think I will call these others and see what they say. Can someone list HAGGERTY and Grundy nos, for me? thanks

Looking at some of these prices you guys are paying, I may have to call my agent. (Hagerty) I pay 420$ a year for my 55, with agreed to value of 25,000$. (prolly overinsured). My driving record is immaculate.

My 55 with Grundy for $26,000 cost $169.

Before you cancel, make sure you are comparing apples to apples. IE: Does your policy have restrictions, such as miles per year, garaged only, registration catagory, deductables, liability limits, (i have 100,000/300.000),towing reimbursement, un-insured/under-insured, muti car discounts, dividend rebate (after how long?), multi driver, At fault inclusions, full comp like:fire, theft, flood, etc), engine size, stock vs modified, and repair or replace options. If totalled, can you buy it back at a lo cost? Is it lower is you have an umbella policy tied to the house (even if it is with a different underwriter)? ..... these are the questions that I concern myself with when I shop it once a year. Remember, anybody can quote a lower price to get you in the door, so protect your interests, not the agents. Just my .03 (.09 with inflation)

All sound good. Has anyone had to file a claim with any of these companies? We always look for the best deal but be careful not to cut yourself short on the replacement value of your truck.

Well, this is still an ongoing issue with me.

Haggerty has unlimited miles , but is somewhat evasive on the "occasionally to work" thing

They say you can drive it there sometimes, but I hear otherwise from comments posted on this site .
I have not had to file a claim.
"Auto owners" insurance wants $500 a year to insure my truck the same coverage for comp and collision ..PLUS I have to have $500 deductable

They can go pound sand..

I have many better things to do than call for quotes day after day.

Seems both Haggerty and Grundy frown bigtime on driving to work or errands with your vehicle.
Driving to a carshow and staying overnight in the town must be really a no-no.

I'd like to hear if anyone has filed a claim with Grundy or Haggerty due to a work or errand accident.
