Diablo Predator

Who knows the ins and outs of the Diablo predator? I was given one this week and want to know all I can. I know SCT is the praised version due to its adaptability, but this was free. What are the pro's and cons?

I went with it for my '05 gas truck because I liked all the options it had and the price was right. Not sure what adjustments you have on the diesel, but I can change just about everything I want on mine and it is a very flexible programmer. Lots of user adjustable items.

Cool, the guy that gave it to me was upgrading to a SCT Xcal 3, which has a very bad post going right now! I am stoked to have finally gotten a programmer. Does it allow for larger or different size tires? What do you have yours set for? stiffer shifting? what? etc?

Pretty much you can disable the speed limiter and there are three tunes programmed into it and you can't change for tires and shifting.

The Diablosport Predator for the Diesel 6.0 does adjust for shift firmness, but I can't find anywhere if it adjusts for different tire sizes, but this is generally a standard option on tuners for the last ten years. It says it comes with all the standard Diablosport Predator features which would include adjusting for tire size on the speedometer.

I suggest you do an internet update on the programmer to make sure you have the latest updates - you will need a cable to connect it to the computer but can get all the information you need from their website. You'll know what you can change as soon as you plug it into your truck.

You get 3 modes for the 6.0
Tow/Haul, 60HP, 100HP
If you are going to run the 100HP, better get an EGT guage
it also monitors codes, you can use it to trend engine/trans variables and log them to a laptop.
It also lets you remove the speed limiter. - best option yet.
I have to say I definitely like mine.

The Diablosport is a good tuner. Only adjust parameters you know about. Don't go wild with the shift firmness, too much is hard on the pump in the tranny and can lead to premature failure. You can adjust the tranny for tire size but on all diesels and most gasser SD you can't correct the speedo for larger tires.

Mine does not adjust for shift firmness I don't know why it would be different. I do like mine but I am selling it since I ordered a v-10. Anyone who is interested PM me I'll make you a deal!

Why would you want to log the engine variables???
