I have a litle over 14k miles on my truck (specs in sig) - and I love it. It was a purpose driven truck to pull our 8500 lb. travel trailer, but sees most use as a daily driver to and from work. Yes, fuel economy is not great - I get about 14 mpg in mixed city/highway commutes driving really easy - but that is about the same as the wifes Expedition with the 5.4l gasser - and this is a much heavier truck. I had some problems with alignment that took several trips to the dealer, but it was a dumb dealership that could not find the problem. One trip to the right dealership fixed the bad steering damper and all is well again. I really like the fit and finish, as well as the ride.

I wouldn't recommend this truck for a daily driver who does not pull much, but for what this truck was designed for - it does in spades.

Don't know about negative post. If a person has a problem with their truck and tells us about it I do not call that negative. This is a fine truck..I don't love it..it's a truck..but I like it a lot.. We had a cracked DPf and I did not like that..but it was repaired. It would be nice if it got near the MPG as the Cummimgs..but it doesn't..but I still think it is a fine truck. We pull a big 5th wheel with it..no complaints..when at home it sits in the driveway and the Honda Civic gets a workout.. The truck does what I want it to do and that's a positive thing.

How did you know the DPF was cracked? Just curious.

I have been reading in competing forums. Not trying to drum up business, as I enjoy my priveleges here. But, check around. CUMMINS is a great engine. They too have MPG problems much like our 6.4. Like yourself, we have to be happy or our perrogative is to change. Today, I looked at my wife's RX 400h and saw some soot on her exhaust and under breath I said to myself, her DPF is cracked! Then I woke UP.

P. S. As a matter of fact: Guys, CUMMINS is spelled that way: Don't degrade, and add a "g".

F350 bought 2/24/07 left me stranded 5 times in 7800 miles. No fix from Navistar or Ford = unhappy guy. Good mileage though
F350 bought 7/3/07 squealing heater core 250 miles took back to dealer. EXCELLENT mileage for that brief period.
F250 bought 7/6/07 Nearly flawless operation in 15,000 miles.
I have thrown sand, rivers, mud and tampa traffic at it and hauled a variety of loads from 3000 lbs to 8000 lbs highway and city. I have loaded it down with tile, rock and construction debris. This truck is the ultimate for me. Even gets 14 city and 19 highway here in the flatlands.
Had bad luck with the earlier trucks but this one is making up for it, even with her black tailpipe.

Best truck I have every owned. Had 6,000 miles by last October but only about 1,000 miles the last 6 months. Have been keeping it clean in the garage, running it just once a week. Putting all the miles on our Escape because of fuel prices. Peddling to the Gym even in 20* weather to save $5.00 each trip to put in the camping fund for 3,000 towing miles coming up this summer. Can not wait to tow with it again. This is where this truck really shines.

Capt Caper,,RE cracked DPF..heavy black soot coating the tailpipe..Frequent regenerations..The dealer took one look at the black soot and ordered a new DPF...been fine since the new one was installed.
Rmesso1..it is true all of the new generation diesels..the ones that have the DPF and go through regeneration have suffered a loss of MPG in comparision to the previous year models//However the Cummins..does the best by far.. As I said I purchased the 6.4 Ford for a good reason and it does the job. Just returned home from Florida 1200 miles up The Florida TKP, I-75 and I-71 pulling a 13K plus 5th wheel MPG average 8.2. MPG.
10K plus miles on the truck..

I had a 6.0 w/ no issues except puking coolant. (dealer said repeatedly it was NOT a blown head gasket-yeah right)

So I bought a 6.4. Mileage is about 1 to 1.5 MPG less than my old 6.0 and on par w/ my buddys '06 6.0.
I am quite happy. GREAT truck and it pulls a load so well!

Mine is the best truck I have ever owned or drove. No problems at all .Gets better mpg then every truck in my fleet! Ok thats not fair they are semitrucks but I did not buy it for mpg's. I buy trucks for dependability so we can get our product's where they need to go when they need to be there so all you fine people can have nice clean H20.

I've got 10k now and this is the 3rd SDuty and this handles my Lance better then any of the others.

Mileage is typical with others I've seen. 11mpg with Lance and 9 -10 mpg hauling 2 place vnose snowmobile trailer empty..must be wind resistance on vnose.

Job 3 F450. I love it. Only problem was a loose wiring connection I encountered on my first trip to the desert.

BTW, I tried to include a picture in the post, but I cold not figure out how to do it.
